Award-Winning Filmmaker based in Southern California.
Tristan Juarez is a filmmaker and director currently pursuing his MFA at Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film & Television, where he is developing a distinct voice rooted in visceral, immersive storytelling. His work transforms internal emotion into tangible experience, using image, sound, and atmosphere to explore themes of identity, memory, and perception.
His creative foundation began in front of the camera as an actor and model, where he gained a deep understanding of performance, presence, and communication. That experience continues to shape his approach as a director, allowing him to guide talent with intention while maintaining a strong visual and emotional perspective behind the lens. Tristan has worked across roles from production assistant to director, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process and how to lead teams from concept through final delivery.
His recent work includes Hermandad, his directing debut which earned Best Proof of Concept, and Fun Guy, a psychological drama that pushes his storytelling further through immersive 16mm filmmaking and 5.1 surround sound design. Across his projects, Tristan approaches each production as both a creative and strategic endeavor, combining storytelling with organization, leadership, and execution.
Influenced by artists who blend adventure, culture, and visual storytelling, Tristan is drawn to capturing human experience at its most raw and honest. Whether through narrative film, branded content, or music-driven visuals, his goal is to create work that is not only seen, but felt.
“I build the feeling people remember.”
